Happy New Year From Your Community Newspaper

David Sabados

I hope you’re enjoying the fourth edition of The G.E.S. Gazette! Since we launched last October, we’ve been hearing from community members across the Globeville, Elyria, and Swansea neighborhoods and the RiNo Art District. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to share your thoughts and ideas. We want to write about topics you’re interested in reading about. In the last few months, several of the stories we’ve published have come from ideas and questions readers have sent in. If you have suggestions, email us at news@denvernorthstar.com (The Denver North Star is our sister publication and that email address is good for news tips across both communities).

My apologies that some December issues arrived late–there was a delay between our printer and the post office. We are striving to have papers come out around the 15th of each month and hopefully this issue arrived in your mailbox around then.

In the last few months, we’ve brought you articles ranging from coverage of Denver City Council to transportation proposals to planned housing developments. On the lighter side, we hope you’ve enjoyed the business and nonprofit profiles. We’re adding more arts and culture coverage too, and hope to add education coverage soon–we know that’s important to many families, especially those with DPS students.

If you’ve been enjoying having a community newspaper, I hope you decide to support our efforts. The G.E.S. Gazette is an affordable, effective way for small businesses and organizations to reach 8,000 households each month. If you are interested in expanding your outreach to the community, email ads@DenverNorthStar.com and we can explain options that fit your needs.

We do also accept contributions. Most community papers today are funded by a mix of local advertising, grants, and individual contributions. If you’re interested in contributing, you can use the form on this page to mail a check, or email us and we will send you a secure link to contribute online.

Thank you for reading, and here’s to a great 2022.
