Using voter-approved bond funds, the Swansea Recreation Center will be getting an upgrade. The aging outdoor pool is in need of replacement, and rather than install a new summer-only outdoor pool, Denver Parks and Recreation will be building a year-round indoor pool instead.
City officials said the decision was made in part because the community doesn’t currently have any indoor pool options, with the closest being nearly four miles away.
The pool is currently in the design phase, with construction expected to begin in early 2024 and be completed in 2025.
As part of the planning process, the city is inviting the community to a meeting on Thursday, April 7 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Swansea Recreation Center to share feedback with city officials as they begin to plan
the redesign.
